About MotoLink

Built in Kigali. Built for Kigali.

MotoLink is a Rwandan moto-taxi platform connecting verified drivers with riders across Kigali — with transparent fares, real-time safety, and a payment model that keeps 90% of every fare with the driver who earned it.

Our alignment

Building Rwanda’s future, one ride at a time.

MotoLink is not just a transport platform — it is a deliberate contribution to Rwanda’s National Strategy for Transformation (NST2) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Every decision we make, from pricing to driver support, is shaped by where Rwanda is going, not just where it is today.

National Strategy for Transformation — NST2

📈

Economic Transformation

Rwanda is moving from an informal, cash-based economy toward a digital, services-led one. MotoLink accelerates that shift for moto operators — creating traceable income, formal employment records, and a foundation for financial inclusion. Drivers who earn through MotoLink build a financial history that can eventually unlock credit and insurance.

🤝

Social Transformation

With a young and growing population, Rwanda needs platforms that create dignified work at scale. MotoLink targets the very cohort NST2 prioritises — youth in urban areas who currently operate informally and without safety nets. Safer rides, verified drivers, and structured earnings directly improve livelihoods and reduce vulnerability.

🏛️

Transformational Governance

Rwanda’s governance agenda demands accountable, data-driven institutions. As an RDB-registered company operating under RURA oversight, MotoLink creates an auditable record of urban mobility that did not exist before. Every trip is logged. Every transaction is traceable. That is the kind of platform a well-governed city can build on.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

SDG 1

No Poverty

Moto drivers are among Rwanda’s most economically vulnerable workers. By guaranteeing 90% of every fare and providing a steady, platform-based income stream, MotoLink creates a measurable path out of subsistence earnings.

SDG 8

Decent Work & Economic Growth

Informal gig work offers no protections and no record. MotoLink formalises that work — bringing drivers into a structured system with transparent earnings, dispute resolution, and an income history that follows them.

SDG 9

Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure

A homegrown Rwandan tech platform competing in the ride-hailing space is itself a statement of innovation capacity. We are building the digital infrastructure of urban mobility from within the country it serves.

SDG 10

Reduced Inequalities

Affordable, reliable transport is a prerequisite for economic participation. By keeping fares predictable and transparent — no surge surprises, no haggling — MotoLink makes mobility equitable across income levels.

SDG 11

Sustainable Cities & Communities

Kigali is one of Africa’s fastest-growing cities. An efficient, on-demand moto platform reduces unnecessary trips, improves route efficiency, and integrates last-mile transport into a coherent urban mobility layer.

SDG 13

Climate Action

We are designed for the electric transition. Our platform architecture tracks trip data that will directly support driver financing for e-motos, fleet electrification partnerships, and Rwanda’s carbon reduction commitments.

Our mission

Fair for drivers. Safe for riders. Honest about money.

Most ride-hailing platforms take 20–30% of every fare. MotoLink takes 10%. That means a driver doing 20 rides a day keeps roughly 24,000 RWF more per week compared to the alternatives — enough to make a real difference to a family in Kigali.

On the rider side, we built every safety feature as a default, not an add-on: verified drivers, SOS on every trip, live trip sharing, and a route deviation alert that pings you and our team if something goes wrong.
